  1. What is the Oceânico Rewards card scheme?
    The Oceânico Rewards card scheme is a new loyalty scheme launched by Oceânico Group in 2008 for their property owners. By referring family members, friends and / or colleagues who are interested in purchasing a property in Portugal, owners will receive points to the value of 1% of the purchase price credited to their Rewards card if the referral goes on to successfully purchase a property.

  2. How much are the Rewards points worth?
    Each Rewards point is worth the equivalent of €1 in cash when spent at an Oceânico commercial outlet in Portugal.

  3. Can I cash my points?
    No, points cannot be redeemed for cash.

  4. How do I credit my Rewards card with money?
    Simply visit any Oceânico golf or resort reception in Portugal and pay across the counter using cash, credit or debit card. Once the transaction has been completed the points will be immediately credited to your Rewards card and can be spent with immediate effect.

  5. What happens if I lose my Rewards card or it's stolen?
    The safekeeping of each Oceânico Rewards card is entirely the responsibility of the cardholder and Oceânico will accept no responsibility for points spent on lost or stolen cards by the non-cardholder.

  6. How do I refer a friend for an Oceânico property purchase through the Oceânico Rewards scheme?
    The process for referring friends through the Oceânico Rewards scheme is very straightforward.
    • visit www.oceanicorewards.com
    • complete the form with all the relevant details
    • once the form is complete click 'submit'
    • your referral will then be registered within the Oceânico system
    • you will receive notification from Oceânico confirming acceptance of the referral
    In the unlikely event that we already have that person registered through a previous source we will be unable to accept the subsequent registration and you will be notified accordingly.
    PLEASE NOTE: This is the only owner referral registration method that will be accepted.

  7. At what point will Rewards points be credited to my card?
    The Rewards points will be calculated and credited to your card immediately after your referral has completed their promissory contract stage (contract signed and returned and deposit paid). From that time you will be immediately able to spend the points that you have earned.

  8. Can my family or friends use the card on my behalf when paying for goods or services?
    Security of your Rewards card and the points it contains is very important to us. Therefore each card will be protected by electronic photographic proof of identity of the cardholder, with the image appearing on screen for the cashier at every point where the Rewards card is used. No-one will therefore be able to spend points on your card without you being present at the point of sale.
    We will issue a separate card to each individual named on the deeds of each property, carrying the photographic proof of identity of that individual. We will also issue an individual card to partner or spouse of the property owner if they are not named on the deeds.
    Cards for children will be issued at the request of the property owner.

  9. What can I buy / pay for with my Oceânico Rewards points?
    You can use your Oceânico Rewards points to fund the purchase of any goods and services provided by Oceânico across all of our outlets in Portugal.
    Some examples of things you can spend your points on include:
    • Food and drink from any Oceânico bar or restaurant - including all golf clubs
    • Any item from any Oceânico Golf pro shop
    • Annual golf fees
    • Green fees, buggy, etc.
    • Golf lessons from an Oceânico pro
    • Beauty treatments at any Oceânico health and beauty centre
    • Fitness classes at any Oceânico gym
    • Furniture packages
    • Annual management fees
    • Plus much more

  10. Is there a minimum / maximum spend amount per transaction?
    No, there is no minimum or maximum spend per transaction. You can spend anything up to the total value of points on your card. If there are not sufficient points on your card to pay for the full value of the transaction the remainder of the payment can be made by cash, credit or debit card.

  11. Does my Oceânico Rewards card have any fees?
    No, there are no fees associated with the ownership of your Oceânico Rewards card.

  12. Will my Oceânico Rewards card operate with a pin number, or will I have to sign each time I use it?
    Security of your Oceânico Rewards card and the points it contains is very important to us. There will be no PIN number, but you will be required to sign the receipt of every Rewards card transaction you make. Each card will be protected by electronic photographic proof of identity of the cardholder, with the image appearing on screen for the cashier at every point where the Rewards card is used.
    This simple identity check will ensure that the card is always used by the designated person. The process for collecting this ID is very quick and simple and will be done at the time you first activate your Oceânico Rewards card in Portugal.

  13. Who is entitled to receive an Oceânico Rewards card?
    Every Oceânico property owner is entitled to receive an Oceânico Rewards card. Cards will be issued in January 2008 to every Oceânico property owner at that time, any individuals who become property owners subsequent to this will be issued with their card immediately after they have completed the promissory contract stage (contract signed and returned and deposit paid). At that point a new owner becomes a member of the Oceânico Rewards scheme and eligible to earn Oceânico Rewards points.

  14. Do I have to be a golfer to be entitled to an Oceânico Rewards card?
    No, you don't have to be a golfer to be entitled to receive an Oceânico Rewards card. Every Oceânico property owner is entitled to receive a card. See above question for further information.

  15. Can I view my account balance?
    We are currently in the process of creating an 'owner's portal' which all Oceânico Rewards card holders will have access to through password protected security. Once this site is up and running you will be able to view your account balance online.
