Diarmuid Gavin to design extensive gardens for new luxury golf & garden resort situated in Vilamoura golfing haven
DUBLIN – 7th September 2007 –Oceânico Group, the leading developer of quality beach, leisure and golf resorts in Portugal, has today launched its €600 million Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort, which is situated close to Oceanico’s five world-class golf courses.
The stunning new resort, which will include luxury apartments and villas, will also contain extensive gardens crafted by renowned celebrity landscape designer Diarmuid Gavin. The announcement of the new project follows Oceânico’s €125 million acquisition of 5 golf courses in Vilamoura earlier this year - an agreement that took Oceânico’s global golf and property portfolio to over €1.625 billion.

Designed with a Moorish theme to match local architecture and to help reflect and accentuate the resort’s extensive Diarmuid Gavin-designed gardens, the Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort is situated on a 170 acre site in the heart of Portugal’s Algarve. Along with exquisite gardens and pools, the new resort will also include a mix of restaurants and bars, as well as a gymnasium.
Property owners in the new Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort will also enjoy membership to the seven outstanding Oceânico golf courses. Five in Vilamoura - The Oceânico Old Course, Oceânico Pinhal, Oceânico Millennium, Oceânico Laguna and Oceânico Victoria – as well as the Christy O’Connor Jnr.- and Nick Faldo-designed golf courses at the nearby Amendoeira Golf Resort. The Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort, which will be officially launched from 4th to the 6th October, will comprise of two and three bedroom apartments and linked villas, four and five bedroom built villas. The deluxe two-bed apartments start at €485,000 with luxury villas ranging from €2,000,000 to €2,500,000.
Oceânico Prestige will also be available at Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort. These four and five bedroom villas come with private swimming pools, Diarmuid Gavin designed gardens and a luxury lifestyle including use of a Sunseeker luxury cruiser.
