Oceânico Group launches its new Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort on Portugal's Silver Coast - with a championship golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros & prices from €365,000

6 September 2007 - Oceânico Group, one of the leading developers of quality beach, leisure and golf resorts in Portugal, will officially launch its newest resort to the UK market from 4 October 2007 – the Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort, set near the medieval village of Óbidos.

The new €280m project will see Oceânico, along with its joint venture partner MSF, complete a range of luxury properties and golf facilities, including five-star apartments, villas and a condominium hotel and spa. Oceânico is also constructing a premier 18-hole championship golf course designed by European golf legend Seve Ballesteros, with property investors enjoying membership of the course.

The development, which is Oceânico’s first on the Silver Coast, has already been recognised as a Project of National Interest for its excellent environmental standards by the Portuguese Government. Oceânico has pledged to construct Royal Óbidos using eco-friendly techniques and materials, to complement the natural landscapes of the 336-acre site.

Royal Óbidos will include a mixture of two and three-bedroom apartments, as well as two, three and four bedroom villas, all built to the highest standard and in a contemporary style. Also based at Royal Óbidos will be a condominium hotel & spa, with one-bedroom studio suites and two bedroom lock off apartments available for purchase.

Facilities at the new resort will include private and communal swimming pools, tennis courts, cycle paths, restaurants, bars, shops and a conference centre.

Located just 45 minutes drive north of Portugal’s capital Lisbon, Royal Óbidos is situated 650-metres from the sea near the watersports haven of Lagoa de Óbidos. Also easily accessible is cosmopolitan Cascais, as well as the UNESCO World Heritage site in Sintra, providing investors with access to a mix of traditional Portugal and city vibrancy.

A full launch of the new Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort will take place in Dublin at the IFSC, George’s Dock and in Belfast at the Holiday Inn from 4 to 6 October, and at Windlesham Golf Club, Bagshot, Surrey on 9 October.

Pricing ranges from €365,000 for a two bedroom lock off apartment to €945,000 for an exclusive four-bedroom villa.
